Cold galvanized steel pipe, also known as electrogalvanized steel pipe, is a method of laying a layer of metal zinc on the conductive body using the principle of electrolysis. The zinc layer of cold galvanized steel pipe is thin, simply attached to the steel pipe matrix, easy to fall off, so its corrosion resistance is poor.

The difference between cold galvanizing and hot galvanizing:

Cold galvanized coatings are mainly anticorrosive by electrochemical principles. Hot dip galvanizing is a method of dipping steel members into molten zinc solution to obtain a metal coating. The corrosion resistance of hot-dip galvanizing is higher than that of cold galvanizing. And hot galvanizing will not rust in a few years, and cold galvanizing will rust in three months.

The zinc layer of hot dip galvanizing itself is relatively thick, with a thickness of more than 10um, although the surface is bright, but rough, there will be zinc flowers. The zinc layer of cold galvanized is very thin, only 3-5um thickness, although the surface is smooth, it will have gray and dirty performance, good processing performance and insufficient corrosion resistance.
