This standard specifies the size, shape, weight, technical requirements, test methods, acceptance rules, packaging, marking and quality certificates of welded steel pipes for low-pressure fluid transportation.

This standard is applicable to water, air, heating steam, gas and other low pressure fluid transportation welding steel pipe.

This standard includes straight seam high frequency resistance welding (ERW) steel pipe, straight seam submerged arc welding (SAWL) steel pipe and spiral seam submerged arc welding (SAWH) steel pipe, and their different requirements are marked, and not marked at the same time applicable to straight seam high frequency resistance welding steel pipe, straight seam submerged arc welding steel pipe and spiral seam submerged arc welding steel pipe.
