Product Overview

2205 (GB 022Cr22Ni5Mo3N, 2205 standard duplex steel), with an austenitic + ferritic duplex microstructure, and a chromium, nickel, molybdenum, and nitrogen alloy ratio, offers comprehensive performance between 316L and 2507 super duplex steel. It is a high-performance, cost-effective special pipe material suitable for highly corrosive environments.

Our products primarily consist of seamless high-pressure industrial pipes, complemented by high-precision sanitary welded pipes. Original factory materials are available with material certificates and spectral verification. Custom processing including length cutting, beveling, bending, and internal/external polishing is supported.

Core Product Advantages (Comparison with 316L and 2507)

Superior Chloride Ion Corrosion Resistance compared to 316L

Molybdenum-nitrogen alloy, significantly higher resistance to salt spray, pitting, and crevice corrosion than 316L. Resistant to rusting through in mild seawater, chlorinated wastewater, and saline-alkali environments over long-term use.

High Strength, Saving Pipe Costs

Yield strength approximately twice that of 304/316L. Thinner wall thicknesses can be selected for the same pressure conditions, reducing pipe weight and lowering overall procurement and installation costs. Wear-resistant and erosion-resistant, suitable for high-speed fluid transport.

Resistant to Stress Corrosion Cracking

Less prone to cracking in brine and warm chloride media, eliminating the risk of bursting in long-term high-temperature, salt-containing media pipelines (compared to 304 and 316L).

Stable Welding Performance

Ultra-low carbon design eliminates the need for solution treatment after welding, preventing intergranular corrosion in the weld, suitable for long-distance fully welded pipeline projects.

Balanced Cost-Effectiveness: With corrosion resistance close to 2507, but at a significantly lower price, it is the preferred economical duplex steel for moderately corrosive conditions.
